Full-Time Patrol Officer
Description
Join the Mantua Township Police force as a full time Patrol Officer.
Responsibilities
- Patrolling the township to prevent crime
- Protecting persons and property
- Assure observance of law, apprehend violators, and provide assistance to persons as necessary
Qualifications
- Police Training Commission (PTC) Certified OR PTC Class II Certified with the ability to attend the additional training required to obtain a waiver to full-time status
- 18 years of age or older
- United States citizen
- Mental and bodily health sufficient to satisfy the Board of Trustees of the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS) of NJ
- Able to read, write, and speak the English language well and intelligently
- Good moral character and free from conviction of any crime constituting an indictable offense or any offense involving moral turpitude
- Able to pass such written, oral, physical, and psychological examinations as may be approved by the department as well as meet essential job requirements
- High School diploma or formal education showing attainment of the level represented by graduation from high school (attainment of Bachelor’s or Associate’s
- Degrees will be given additional points in the process)
- Hold a valid NJ driver’s license
- Applicants must have already satisfied any costs associated with academy training with their current or former employer
- Meet any and all additional requirements of N.J.S. 40A:14-122 to N.J.S. 40A:14-127
