The Washington Township Police Department is conducting a hiring process for the position of Police Officer.

Candidates must meet all below eligibility requirements in order to participate:

• A citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey, and is the holder of a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
• Must have earned a Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent of 120 credits from an accredited college or university.
  An accredited college or university shall be defined as an institute of higher education which has received
  accreditation from an accrediting body which is recognized by the United States Department of Education.
• If you do not possess a Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent of 120 credits, you must have one of the below
  criteria;
• have at least two (2) years prior experience as a full-time "sworn" law enforcement officer and sixty (60) credits
  from an accredited college or university, or;
• have four (4) or more years prior experience as a full-time "sworn" law enforcement officer and thirty (30) credits
  from an accredited college or university, or;
• be a SLEO II with the Washington Township Police Department and have sixty (60) credits from an accredited
  college or university, or;
• have been honorably discharged from four (4) or more years of active military service and sixty (60) credits from
  an accredited college or university, or;
• currently serving in the military with at least four (4) years since enlistment date and is in good standing and sixty (60) credits from an accredited college or university

Applicants must ensure that all eligibility requirements are met and then download and print the “Application Submission Checklist.” All candidates must submit a one page resume, proof of college requirements and/or military documentation, a copy of their valid New Jersey Driver’s License and a copy of their Police Training Commission Certificate (if certified).

Incomplete application packets will not be accepted. This testing process list will initiate at the expiration of the current list, June 1, 2023, and will be valid thru June 1, 2024.
