Description
Harrison Township Police Department is looking for candidates to take up the position of a Full-Time Certified Police Officer.
Responsibilities
- Protect and Serve the community
- Enforce City & State ordinances
Qualifications
- Police Training Commission (PTC) Certified OR PTC Class II Certified with the ability to attend additional training required to obtain a waiver to full-time status
- U.S. citizen and a resident of the State of New Jersey at the time of appointment
- Meet PFRS eligibility requirements
- Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking
- Good moral character with no disqualifying criminal history or offenses of moral turpitude
- Able to pass exams as required (oral, written, physical, psychological)
- Meet essential general duties, responsibilities and requirements of a police officer
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or service in the United States Military for a period of at least 2 years preferred
- Valid New Jersey driver's license
- Meet all requirements under N.J.S. 40A:14-122 to N.J.S. 40A:14-127
