Chief Andrew Davis

It has been and honor and a privilege to have served in law enforcement for a little over 23 years. I started with the Wildwood Police Department as a Seasonal SLEO-2 Officer in 1999. I was then hired by the Pitman Police Department and worked as SLEO-2 from 2000 – 2002. It was at this point that I found my home within the Clayton Police Department, where I was hired as a full time patrol officer. I held the following ranks within the Clayton PD;

2002 – 2007: Patrolman
2007: Detective
2008-2016: Sergeant
2016- Present: Chief of Police

I have been blessed with a marriage of 18 years and counting, to my wonderful wife Jennifer Davis. I have two children whom I have adopted. One being on the Autism Spectrum and the other African American.
It has been my life long goal to help and defend the innocent against those who would seek to intimidate and victimize others. I could not ask for a better team of officers to work with then those at the Clayton Police Department. We are constantly striving to improve our Police Department and seek better ways to serve the Community of Clayton. One of the primary areas for us to do this is it to hire diverse individuals who can infuse their culture, beliefs, ideas, and values into our organization. In doing so it is my belief that we will have a well rounded Police Department who can meet the needs of a diverse community. If you believe that you would be an asset to the Clayton Police Department I would strongly encourage you to apply. You will soon see why Clayton is a “great place to live and play, work and pray.”
