I, Patrol Officer Wilfredo Matos have been protecting and serving with the Washington Township Police Department for 3 years. I began here as a SLEO II and in September of 2021 I was promoted to a full time patrol officer. Becoming police officer Wilfredo Matos has been everything I thought it would be and working within Washington Township has been an amazing experience. There are many avenues you can take your career to expand your experience. I enjoy the patrol work of an officer no days are the same but that’s what makes me enjoy the work we do. I also enjoy the Community Caretaking aspect, in which we get to know out town that much more. On my off time I like to go to the gym and put in effort to stay physically fit. Outside of the gym I take advantage of the outdoors, whether it’s going for a walk with my dog, hit a trail to run or just sit out on my porch and enjoy life. I still stay in touch with sports participating in football and basketball leagues so I can stay somewhat of an athlete. Other than that, traveling is on the agenda and I will try to explore as much of the world as I can.
